I am a Senior Research Fellow in Machine Learning and a faculty member of the OxCSML Group in the Department of Statistics at the University of Oxford, where I hold the position of Florence Nightingale Bicentennial Fellow and Tutor in Statistics and Probability. I run the RainML Research Lab, which currently comprises of twelve D.Phil students spread across the Statistics, Engineering Science, and Computer Science departments. My research covers a wide range of topics in and around machine learning and experimental design, with areas of particular interest including Bayesian experimental design, deep learning, representation learning, generative models, Monte Carlo methods, active learning, probabilistic programming, and variational inference. I also teach in the department and currently lead the Advanced Topics in Statistical Machine Learning course.
